CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by President Eugenio Santoro.


OPENING REMARKS
President gave the overview of IGCA activities and set up the objectives of the Association in the future.


IGCC REPORT
6th Congress — Members got the preview of 6th Congress which will be held on May 4th to 7th in Yokohama.

7th Congress — The report concerning 7th Congress was presented by Brazilian member. The schedule for IGCC in Brazil was talked about and was held for consideration till the Yokohama Congress.

8th Congress — Secretary General announced the candidate sites for 8th Congress in 2009. Members talked about the possible host site, and then President decided to request the candidates to submit the formal document for decision-making. Questionnaires are as follows.

1) Who will chair the congress with economic responsibility?
2) Who will economically support the congress?
3) Scientific title
4) Hospitality - Hotel, Flight, Venue and Congress area
5) Budget Plan

JOURNAL REPORT
The issue regarding paper assessment was raised.
Members talked on how papers of Gastric Cancer Journal could be cited well and approved as high-impact by ISI. The proposals made in the meeting are like the following.

1) Editing the information about the papers which have been published in the Journal until today.
2) Publishing good reviews, abstracts, papers or complements regarding the Congress in Yokohama.

This issue is still arguable.
